RELATIONSHIP REMEDY AWARENESS
ISSUES AFFECTING MY COMMUNITY
GENDER BASED VIOLENCE || MURDER || PASSION KILLING || RAPE || ASSAULT
A pandemic has sadly covered my community and the whole country of Botswana. The current statistics has shown large number of women and children who have been raped, brutally killed, beaten to an extent of being hospitalised, men also being killed by other men or by women. Mostly all these terrible scenarios are results of failed or misunderstandings in love related relationships.
SOLUTIONS WORKING
Honestly It would delight me if I could pin point a solution to this horror, unfortunately it seems nothing is currently productive. Counsellings are being provided, women try to leave abusive partners but the partner ends up following them where ever they went to kill them. Parents and law force intervene but nothing seems to be more impactful. A culprit can be released on bail and go kill the same person who reported them for abuse. Shelters are trying to accommodate and protect a few but not all victims are lucky to be assisted or having a clue to seek such help.
SOLUTIONS TO BRING CHANGE
Individuals must not wait for the worst to happen, they need to leave at the first sign of threat. Individuals with anger issues must go for therapy. As well as everyone because we are all dealing with a lot, let's all normalise counselling.
MY VISION FOR CHANGE
Is for every individual to seek healing. We are all broken, we carry our brokenness to people we say we love. But there is no love that can lead to killing, abuse or any sort of terrible pain. My biggest fear in these scenario is, I have realised that it's a culture for men to own women, hence it's difficult to approach adults with this matters yet they are the ones raising broken children who grow up with childhood traumas and believe that men are not suppose to seek emotional help. And they tend to bleed on women and children. I really hope this African culture can be revised, it's destroying lives so badly. My dream is to see everyone healthy, happy and be able to control their emotions.
MY CHANGE MAKING EFFORTS
As this pandemic has been traumatising my community, I have started an annual movement tittled RELATIONSHIP REMEDY AWARENESS. This movement promotes love by standing against anything that degrade the value of love such as Domestic Abuse, Suicide, Depression, Mental Disorder, Passion Killing, Assault and any other related issues. This Awareness has been running since the year 2017. I am doing it with my team, Save A Woman Organisation here in Botswana. With minimal funds from our own pockets. We provide counselling, we do community out reach to schools, churches, shelters, work places, shopping centres, sports grounds, and other occasions we get invited at, also on televisions, radios, news papers and social media. We encourage people to love in real not to use love as their scape goat for their bad intentions. We encourage people to find healing, to love themselves, to build healthy relationships and families. To raise kids well with love and care as that will birth future adults who are full of love.
When Relationship Remedy Awareness gets successful, the world will be full of love, healed and so compassionate. We will have no case of murder, no case of suicide, no case rape, so case assault, no case of any sort of abuse. Oooh how i wish and pray to see that world and live on it.
