Girls in ICT: A Call to Every Girl , Every Woman, Every Mother

On the occasion of Girls in ICT Day,I’m speaking to you — women, girls, mothers.

I won’t make one of those polished speeches we often don’t see ourselves in. I want to speak from the heart. I want to speak our truth.

Today, it’s clear: women have potential. And we know it. We see it. Women have managed to break through, to shine in spaces once thought to be off-limits. Even though their number remains far too small compared to the many others who are just as capable.

When we watch them, when we admire them, let’s remember: They’re not perfect. They have struggles, doubts, and pain. Life hasn’t always been kind to them. But they believed in themselves. They seized opportunities. They showed up. They embraced who they are.And that, in itself, is a victory. Personally, I love seeing women in tech.

It fascinates me. And I know I’m not alone. Even men are inspired by it. We carry incredible potential within us. Let’s make a decision. Let’s rise. Let’s fight. Just like we fight for our children, for our families, Let’s fight for ourselves too. For our place in this digital world. For a tech space that is more inclusive, more human, more feminine.

To every girl who feels intimidated: tech is for you too.

Step in. Dare. Connect. Create. Code. Innovate.

The digital world needs you.

And the future is also written by women.
