Girls’ Talk’’: Mental and physical well-being: a new developed program for adolescent girls in Armenia.



We have already started a new program with adolescent girls on Mental & physical well-being!



“Girls’ talk: Mental and physical well –being” program is developed with a holistic approach towards one’s well-being and self-care. Through this program participants will receive both theoretical and practical knowledge on holistic well-being. Another main topic of discussion is the theme of “Communication” with different main target groups.



Taking into consideration that the adolescent period is a critical time for the development of an individual’s personality and social connections; we believe that this program will be very useful for both their psychological and physical health, as well as promoting healthy and committed relationships.



The target group is consisted of adolescent girls between 13-16 years old. The training is held every Saturday, in the school. The duration of the program is 4 months.



There are two trainers in the program:



Elvira Meliksetyan: Elvira graduated from Yerevan State University with a MA of Psychology. Since 2008 she has been involved in women rights protection and advocacy. Since 2012 she has been the Adolescent Girls Program Coordinator at Women’s Resource Center, Armenia. Elvira has a lot of experience working with adolescent girls on empowerment and leadership programs. Since 2013 she has been working as a trainer in the field of integrated security, which is a program on development of one’s well-being, self-care and security. Since 2013 she has been a steering committee member of Young Women South Caucasus Network.



Sona Barseghyan: Sona graduated from Pedagogical University in Vanadzor, Lori region with a BA of Physical Training. For 8 years she has been a member of Vanadzor Women's Soccer team. She has experience in training youth, with a concentration on body-mind connection and the impact of physicaltraining on one’s mental and physical well-being and development.



Girls' talk is an empowering program for adolescent girls to help them develop self-esteem and confidence. The program is a safe place for young women to connect with each other, share their experiences and talk about issues that concerns them. This program helps young women develop self-awareness, coping strategies and critical thinking through artistic fun, recreational mental and physical activities.
