Every 10th of September each year is marked as - #SuicideAwarenessday.
The word SUICIDE sends shivers to most people including me which also makes me wonder how painful it could be for those who commit suicide.
People who commit suicide don't just wake up one morning and kill themselves but have been enduring and experiencing certain dark moments before ending it all.
Believe me, i don't think someone in his/her right mind could have the courage to commit suicide. It's abnormal...if you ask me...
Suicide is an action carried out by those who felt life have no meaning, no one cares or appreciate them... so why still breathe on this planet?
Such persons probably have reached out previously to some people with their ugly thoughts and fraustrations but those they went to, never gave them a genuine listening ear.
I hear most times about those who are depressed not talking to anyone. They get to the stage of not wanting to share their problems with anyone because, they have tried initially but no one listened. Those who listened probably didn't take them serious or simply shouted angrily at them with such hurting words like-
"Are you the only one suffering in this life"
"Life is not fair to all of us so...deal with it..."
Giving a listening ear isn't just about sitting down watching someone hurting talking but, you absorbing all details with compassion, and not being judgmental.
Judging someone who is already blaming herself/himself or the society for failing in life is like pouring gasoline into a raging fire. It aggravates such person's decision to end it all through suicide.
Never give a listening ear to someone without following up immediately with finding a solution no matter how little.
One moment of not paying immediate attention, physically, emotionally, materially on finding a relief for someone who have lost hope in life could be tragic📍🌹💜.
