Growing up with Labels

Growing up with labels like marginalized girls from female headed families in marginalized rural communities’ damages courage, confidence, trust, love, mental health, hope, visions, you name it, and it took me time to rebuild all those after having carried on my shoulders the ghost of imposter syndrome, to stand and even trust myself was only a dream. World Pulse community, the only group were people meet online and come together, each playing their part, to create lasting impact, the changemaker for me, brought another world for me, a shoulder to lean on in all circumstances, be it when you happy, worried or crying. things changed, the Pulse cultivated in me a mindset that emphasizes the importance of adaptability, resilience, and continuous personal growth, destroyed that feeling of unworthiness that was manifested through a number of antisocial behaviors such as sabotage, undermined and underrated that brought negative perceptions on my own abilities.

 Encountering that circle by World Pulse, had me to imagine living with a group of people were there are no boundaries build by negative attitudes, negative cultural barriers, corruption and unnecessary antisocial behaviors, a circle that will make the word WORLD make sense because there will be collectiveness under a sphere that transmits positive attractions of solidarity, safety, protection, love and trust. I might not have played any major impact in social change movements, but I find myself routing towards storytelling to motivate people especially women and girls while challenging societal barriers that hinders this groups to break the many ceilings created by cultural norms, values and other practices that hinders them to reach their potentials.

We need a way to build groups that work together to address complex social issues, and not only address but leave behind a visible, positive and sustainable strides/impact that maintains collective action, cross-sector collaborations and shared goals while leveraging expertise. People who believe in transparent connection cycles even when linked by online platforms or other digital platforms for creating a virtual home where they safely interact, fearlessly share information and build relationships with each other based on either their interests or experiences. Because despite the circumstances, there is a circle out there, that will renew and transform you.

It is time to build a system of a full shift from toxic to tender digital spaces, move from distraction to collective action through policy reforms, not only left on black and white, but implemented accordingly, reforms that will transition all from fear of violence to safe, welcoming spaces, from destroying peaceful homes, that even gives birth to GBV to healthy homes, from fraudulent minds to empathetic spirits and lasty from patriarchy to inclusivity and meaningful engagements.

Be with the World Pulse and promote the value of collaboration, empathy, and ethical behaviour and start recognizing that true success is not

achieved at the expense of others.
