Happy International Women's Day

International Women's Day, celebrated on March 8th, traces its origins to the early 20th-century labor movement. The inaugural event, held in 1909 in the United States, was organized by the Socialist Party in honor of a garment workers' strike. The idea to make it an annual event was proposed by Clara Zetkin at the 1910 International Socialist Women's Conference, and by 1911, it was celebrated in several European countries. Originally advocating for women's labor rights and suffrage, the day evolved to emphasize broader issues of gender equality and women's contributions to society. It was officially recognized by the United Nations in 1975, becoming a global day of recognition and advocacy for women's rights and participation in every aspect of life.
