Tihar is the festival of lights, explaining the many candles lighted.The five day festival is considered to be of great importance as it shows reverence to not just the humans and the Gods, but also to the animals like crow, cow and dog, who maintain an intense relationship with the humans. The 5 days festival ends with the Bhai tika, the day of brothers and sisters. So, the festival is of light and brothers and sisters with due respect to animals. The Chhaith is a particular festival of Janakpur, is dedicated to sun! The sun is considered as God!! On this auspicious occasion, wishing you a very HAPPY TIHAR AND CHHAITH 2009!!
