Heal the World

Im a Karaoke addict remember??? Hence you will probably know that pretty much half of the people who are music addicts absolutely love/d Michael Jackson and I love his song Heal the World and his chorus " Heal the world, make it a better place for you and for me and the entire human race, there are people dying if you care enough for the living make a better place for you and for me" symbolises in what I believe in - I want to make my community or the world a better place for you as well as for me. One thing I have found out about me or I should say was heavily re-instilled in me when I was recently living with 17 people from 14 different countries for the past 6 months is that whatever happens around me affects me (as it should) if people/neighbors around me are happy I am, and if they are always down then their bad vibe will most likely touch on me a little if not a lot.
I am a youth activist in the area of Education, I believe every one should have the chance to attain an education at least up to Diploma level, for that is the only way you can get a decent paying job in Malawi but in a country with only 5 government universities the chances of the thousands of youth who sit for university entrance exams to be selected into University is minimal. And the private colleges here charge an arm and a leg so many youth end up taking low paying jobs, some girls opt for what they might think is the 'easy way out' and go into prositution, some youth end up becoming theives and when they have children the cycle thereby continues.
Dekeyser and Friends Foundation are giving me a chance to realise my dream - to set up my own bamboo product making business and be able to export baskets - I will be making an income that will support me but also support needy youth who need income to help them pay for their tuition fees by employing them part time - in production, administration, accounts, etc, and for those youth who college is no longer an option, I will train them in bamboo product production. The youth will be identified via my youth network SAYOM (see my first post) and through youth groups. I will of course start small but in ten years time I believe I will have caused a wave!
This is why I want to become a Voices of Our Correspondent. There are so many people following World Pulse from all corners of the globe and my becoming a Voices of Our Correspondent on World Pulse would be one forum where my work can also be portrayed and seen by a lot of people thereby be able to network and access more opportunities for myself, these youth and my community and this my beloved friends will be my fifth, sixth, seveth... step in helping to heal the world...
