✨ PMS is Not a Weakness. PMDD is Not a Punchline.
For too long, women’s hormones and mental health have been dismissed as “drama” or “overreaction.” But the truth is clear:
These are not minor inconveniences. They are lived realities that demand recognition, compassion, and systemic change.
🩸 The Reality of PMS and PMDD
PMS (Premenstrual Syndrome)
- Affects up to 75% of menstruating individuals
- Symptoms: fatigue, irritability, brain fog, bloating, mood changes
- Disrupts studies, work, relationships, and self-worth
PMDD (Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder)
- Affects 3–8% of menstruating individuals
- A hormone-based mood disorder, far more severe than PMS
- Symptoms: intense mood swings, rage, hopelessness, anxiety, suicidal thoughts
- Often misdiagnosed as depression or personality disorder
💬 “Understanding your cycle helps you understand yourself better.”
💬 “Acknowledging symptoms is the first step toward healing.”
🌿 The Ashoka University Workshop: Heal the Cycle
At Ashoka University, the Heal the Cycle workshop created a safe, stigma-free space for students to:
- Understand patterns in their cycles
- Embrace change with compassion
- Unlock personal growth through reflection
This wasn’t just a workshop—it was a mirror.
It showed what happens when institutions make space for conversations that are usually silenced.
Students gained language. Peers learned to listen. Stigma began to loosen its grip. 💛
🎙️ Meet the HealCycle Duo
Ananya Grover — Founder of HealCycle, Princeton graduate, TED speaker, and menstrual equity activist since her teens.
She’s been building one of the most important conversations of our time—bridging technology, advocacy, and compassion to make PMS & PMDD impossible to ignore.
Dr. Aninda Sidhana — Psychiatrist, survivor-informed advocate, and campaigner for dignified mental health reform.
Together, we’re taking these conversations beyond campus—into:
✔️ Corporates
✔️ Schools
✔️ IVF centres
✔️ Psychiatry & psychology societies
✔️ Women’s mental health conferences and alliances

Built by survivors, guided by clinicians, and powered by empathy
🤝 Collaboration Is the Catalyst
This movement is not ours alone. It grows through partnership.
HealCycle’s PMS & PMDD workshops are designed to be adapted across diverse settings—each one becoming a safe space for lived experiences, clinical clarity, and cultural resonance.
We’ve already begun collaborating with:
- 🏫 Universities like Ashoka, where students gained language and peers learned to listen
- 🏢 Corporates, where cyclical distress impacts productivity and wellbeing
- 🧬 IVF centres, where hormonal shifts intersect with emotional vulnerability
- 🧠 Psychiatry & psychology societies, where PMDD is often misdiagnosed
- 🫂 Women’s mental health alliances, where stigma is being dismantled
Whether you're an educator, HR leader, clinician, or advocate—your space can become a healing space.
Let’s co-create workshops that:
- Normalize cycle-based mental health
- Equip teams with trauma-aware language
- Build bridges between science, empathy, and action
