Hello Women's Networking Zone!

story
Get greetings from me. I am sure we have all been busy in various ways. Across the globe, I know we have been working to serve our communities, nations, families, friends, name it!
This was once an active group. We recently took a liong break! I would love us to be active again and share our:
- experiences
- achievements
- drawbacks, and much more.
From Mexico City to all the boaders of the world, I am sure that all this group have something to share. Me too :>))! Now the world is taking a turn. Women's issues are being addressed, and they come with all sorts of challenges. More women are yet to be seen in leadership, and voices be heard!
In my country, Kenya, we will have a general election next year. The last one, in 2007, was graced with bloodshed and also deaths. With abuse off all sorts. The majority of those who suffered the abuse were women. Now there are cases going on at the International Criminal Court at the Hague to try and get who were the masterminds of the violence. These people might be found guilty- or not, but the damage has already been caused! We can only try and prevent the same happening in the future!
We have one woman standing for presidency. We have never had a woman president, and this would be a milestone! Women are still a long way behind and should be involved more in places of leadership and decision making. I am sure many countries in the world are also in this state! We are looking forward to a free and fair election. We are hopeful to show a positive change in the face of the world.
On the contrary, women have been in the frontline to make voices heard, and bring positive change with great impact at different levels. From carreer to personal businesses, enterpreneurship and activism, addressing issues on rights and HIV/AIDS...name it!
I would love to hear all the happenings from this group, and how we together can network for positive change.
Warmest regards from Kenya.
In sisterhood,
Leah.
