Her Story, Her Power is dedicated to helping women and young girls in underserved communities share their experiences, inspire change, and shape a more just world, all through digital platforms. This initiative ensures that every woman’s story is heard, valued, and used as a force for advocacy and transformation.

Many women lack access to platforms where their voices can be heard. Through storytelling, I, Grace Iliya from Nigeria, and Ngom Maceline Amwi from Cameroon will work to empower them to reclaim their narratives and influence conversations that matter. With a fully digital approach, Her Story, Her Power provides the skills, confidence, and opportunities for women to tell their stories and create impact without necessarily having physical interaction.

To achieve these, we will;

1. Teach Women How to Share Their Stories

Ø Provide foundational digital storytelling skills through accessible training programs.

Ø Train at least 100 women through virtual and community-led programs.

Ø  Utilize offline tools such as printed guides, radio discussions, and voice message coaching for those with limited internet access.

Ø Empower women to voice their experiences and advocate for change.

Ø  Conduct at least two structured training cycles, with ongoing support within 6 months.

We will offer a mix of online workshops, offline training materials, and mobile-accessible content. Provide templates and guidance for crafting impactful stories, and connect participants with experienced storytellers through phone-based or in-person mentorship via local partners.

2. Amplify Stories Through Digital and Community Media

Ø Increase the reach of women's stories using podcasts, short videos, and accessible media.

Ø  Share at least 25 quarterly participant stories to digital platforms and community radio.

Ø Leverage existing storytelling networks and media partnerships.

Ø  Ensures women's voices are heard and acknowledged.

Ø Publish at least one feature story, podcast, or radio segment per month.

We will produce bi-monthly digital and community radio segments featuring women’s stories and expert insights, and collaborate with local radio stations for broader accessibility. We will also achieve this by creating engaging videos and voice recordings optimized for low-data platforms like WhatsApp and community forums. We will organize hashtag-driven campaigns to encourage widespread participation and visibility.

3. Build a Supportive Storytelling Network

Ø Create a sustainable network where women can share and collaborate.

Ø Establish at least three digital and community-based storytelling groups within the first year.

Ø Utilize existing community leaders and digital tools to foster connections.

Ø Strengthens advocacy and provides ongoing support.

Ø Fully launch network activities within the quarter.

We will do this by partnering with grassroots organizations to facilitate local storytelling meet-ups and using WhatsApp, Telegram, and other mobile-friendly platforms to maintain connections.

Working with Partners

Ø Strengthen collaboration with organizations for outreach and resource sharing.

Ø Engage at least three organizations in the first year.

Ø Focus on partnerships with NGOs, community radio, and local media.

Ø Expands accessibility and impact.

Ø Establish formal partnerships within six months.

We engage women’s rights and education-focused organizations, collaborate with storytelling platforms and community radio stations, and seek sponsorships to provide digital access tools where needed.

Measuring Success & Continuous Improvement

Ø Implement a tracking system to assess engagement and impact.

Ø Evaluate participation rates, content reach, and qualitative feedback.

Ø Use digital tools and community-based reporting methods.

Ø Ensures continuous improvement.

Ø Conduct quarterly evaluations and adjust strategies accordingly.

We will achieve this by tracking content views, community involvement, collecting testimonials, and conducting short participant interviews. We will make adjustments to the content and extend strategies based on the findings.

Conclusion

He Story, Her Power is a movement that bridges digital and community-based storytelling, ensuring that women’s voices are amplified no matter their level of internet access. By combining digital tools with offline engagement, we create an inclusive space for storytelling and advocacy.

To ensure accessibility, we will integrate low-data communication methods such as voice recordings, SMS prompts, and community radio storytelling sessions. Our partnerships across two countries, Nigeria and Cameroon, will ensure that the initiative remains diverse, impactful, and adaptable to different contexts.

By working together, we will empower women to share their stories, build networks, and drive lasting change.
