Hey Chapter 27 of Life

My name is Purity Waithira born on the 9th of July, now aged 27. I am the firstborn and only daughter in a family of 5. From chapter 1 to chapter 26 everything was amazing but not smooth because towards the end of chapter 26 my kid brother passed on aged 19 through a fatal accident that occurred on the 22^nd of May 2024. It was dark and a turning point because so many responsibilities fell on my shoulders.

It has been so overwhelming for me responsibility-wise because that tragedy made my mom become a shadow of herself, but I am hopeful that someday she will be all right and the pain will grow less. This new chapter doesn’t feel special but it has to be because for a moment so many eyes are on me, I became a problem solver, pillar, and a decision-maker to help my mom now that my mom is too broken to resume her responsibilities after my kid brother’s demise. I want to see what happens if I don’t give up on her behalf and that is why I do what I have to do to keep my family together.

I have to keep the dream of a bright future for my family and me by creating it and that is by not folding when others are, not because I don’t feel the pain but because if anything should go wrong then I will have failed because I could have always done better. Today might be dark and painful but I believe that tomorrow will be brighter if I hang in there though with a gap.

To my brother, we were never ready to lose and we will never be ready but you slipped off our hands and went into eternal slumber. Keep resting in peace till we see again, you will forever be in our hearts. Your aura and charisma are unmatched but the beautiful memories of you will forever linger in our hearts our brilliant and young hero.

To myself, Happy 27^th Birthday Purity this far is by the grace of God. Live fully run your race on your terms and conditions and pace, and compete with everyone except yourself. Challenge yourself to do better and take the risks that are worth it. I can’t promise you that it will be smooth but the experience is what makes it life. Go and be anything you want, succeed because the power lies in you and nothing is impossible as long as you intend to do it, there will always be a way. You have been doing well so far but can do even better if you don’t let the pain of yesterday prevent you from seeing the light of tomorrow. Sometimes we don’t choose the responsibilities to take care of life throw them at us, you will be all right, someday.
