I AM LIVING MY DREAM: WORLD PULSE THE KEY

It was my childhood dream to help the oppressed women, to speak against violence against women, to assist women to be free from shackles of poverty, have economic power and have a voice in our society. I carried this dream for 45 years of my life until I met World Pulse in 2009. It was just one click on the google that took me to World Pulse and one click that took me to the realization of my dream. Immediately I had contact with World Pulse, I was a bird that was kept inside a cage but suddenly somebody just open the cage. World Pulse open my cage of bondage and since then I have been flying, soaring higher and higher every day to the amazement of everyone around me.

I started my NGO Women Inspiration development center in 2010 through the contacts I made in World Pulse. Women Inspiration Development Center is committed to advancing women’s right and creating a safe place for victims of gender based violence and disenfranchised women and girls to develop their agency through empowerment workshop and counselling in order to improve their health, economic, and social status so they can have fulfilling lives free of violence.

To Date Women Inspiration Development Center have helped 3,500 women and girls victims of violence not sure of their daily meal when they came to WIDC. This is  translating to the direct impact of improving 62,500 peoples’ lives, and close to 525,000 people indirectly affected through Imagine Empowerment Workshops, Support Groups  and Skill Acquisition training.

In 2018, WIDC worked with 550 village women with zero source of income and victims of wife battering. At the end of the year, 90% (495) are no more having violence in their homes and a solid source of income ranges from Cash crop farms, food crop farms, Vocation like Photograph, Tailoring and Bead making and then small scale business and petty trading.
