I Am Valued

story
In your eyes I may not be valuable,
But it is not my fault,
My price is beyond your affordability,
I am super, very unique
That is my value; a woman of World Pulse.
I am deaf and dump,
I neither speak nor hear your language,
But I can shout for you to hear mine,
Because I have so many voices within me.
You have defined me as weak severally,
You intimidated me into silence,
Your habitual kicks have put me down many times,
But this time I will rise again with my ‘sword’ held tightly,
Because I have the courage to face you once more.
We have fought many wars,
Exchanged kicks, stones, and blows,
This time I will not kick back,
I am determined to negotiate our course,
Because with my tender finger tips my language will convince you,
There is a possibility that we will be happy again.
My charm is irresistible,
No matter how many bruises my face has,
The leaper that I have become has not eroded my attractiveness,
The scars from the kitchen burns have made me more appealing,
My beauty cannot be compared elsewhere,
Because I am a woman of substance with so much strength.
So much has happened between us over the years,
You claim that I have changed,
That I am not what you married,
Yes, I have changed quite a lot and I am proud of it,
Innovation is all I am now.
Do not blame my change on someone,
It is not my mother or my sisters’ fault,
Neither is it my friends at church, or the market women,
Open your eyes and see the worldwide trend,
Web 2.0 has paved way for global associations,
I am a proud beneficiary of these connections.
Embrace me, for who I have become,
Do not criticize my change,
Let’s work on our differences,
We can make our home environment comfortable,
These transformations are good for both of us,
Because now I am a woman of the World Pulse, darling.
