I celebrate the woman in me on International Women's Day

I celebrate myself because I stand up against people who harmed me or others and tell them, I reject them in my life.

I celebrate myself for standing up against sexism at workplace and fighting back.

I celebrate myself because I chose truth over keeping the job which came with gender politics and patriarchal control.

I celebrate myself for living alone in a big city where 12.5 million people live, making all my decisions on my own, run my household and yet never allow loneliness and feeling low seep into my mind.

I celebrate myself because even though I did not have a successful marriage I still believe in true love.

I celebrate myself because I have let unknown people known to me and placed trust on them to allow them to prove that strangers are friends yet to be discovered.

I celebrate myself because I forgive and give many chances and more.

I celebrate myself for the way my daughter is turning out and the respect we have for each other.

I celebrate myself for looking after myself and many people in my life.

I celebrate myself because I still have wonder inside of me to see, hear, smell, touch and feel new experiences and sights.

This Women's Day I am proud of this woman who resides inside of me who believes she will overcome.
