“I love you, Mom” -A Mother’s Day tribute

So far yet so near

Mother’s Day is a celebration filled with flowers, laughter, warm hugs and cherished memories.

But for some of us, there’s an empty seat at the table.

And a name we still whisper, even when no one’s listening.

My mother is no longer here. But her love… never left.

I used to say, “I love you, Mom” at the end of every call. Sometimes quick, sometimes distracted— but always true.

Now, I say it into the quiet.

While cooking her favorite dish, making the bed or folding laundry the way she taught me.

Love like hers doesn’t disappear.

It becomes a part of you.

In the way I comfort others.

In the way I am trying to raise my daughter.

In the strength I show when life gets hard.

In the way I love— because she taught me how.

So today, even though I can’t hand her flowers

or hear her laugh at my bad jokes…

I still say it.

I love you, Mom.

Happy Mother’s Day.

I carry you with me, always.
