The Switched Up Lady's Podcast
Growing up, I loved writing, singing, dancing and talking. Oh, I could talk for a whole day if you let me! 🤭
Everything was bright and beautiful until one day, I decided to record myself speaking and for the next few years after that, I wished I never did.
At first, it was confusion, "is that really me talking?"
Then it was surprise, "why does it sound so bad?"
Then came came the dislike "OMG, my voice doesn't sound good when recorded!"
That marked the beginning of a belief I carried for years.
I would continue to speak at school programs, radio shows but always avoid listening to my voice on any form of recording.
Fast forward to my early twenties, stepping into the journey of self-awareness, purpose discovery and personal development, I started building a personal brand.
Soon enough I discovered that writing alone was no longer enough for all the ideas and inspiration I had to share.
I needed more freedom to express myself with an easy, natural flow.
The answer?
PODCASTING
My long sitted fear came calling! 🫣
I didn't pick up the phone.
Rather I picked up my pen, drafted my first episode, recorded, published and listened to it.
Boom!
It wasn't as bad as I thought! 😲 (Just the usual first time akwardness.)
I kept going and getting better with each episode and totally fell head over heels in love with my voice.
I'm so in love with my voice, I listen to my episodes over and over again!
The Switched Up Lady's Podcast is centered on sharing inspirational insights and encouraging other young African ladies to flip the switch and discover their UNIQUE STRENGTHS, ABILITIES and use them to live the AUTHENTIC and FULFILLING lives they've always dreamed of.
So far I've gotten a lot of positive feedback and reviews and most of them mention how soothing my voice sounds.
It's amazing how embarking on a journey of self-discovery can help us break out from old, wrong beliefs and fears that hold us back from living the life we were made for.
If you have old beliefs that do not align with the woman you're becoming and meant to be, I encourage you to face and dismantle them one at a time.
It's time to step into the light of your true capacity and embrace all the great possibilities it brings.
Cheers to your grand rising!
PS: Now I need your help to make the show even better.
Kindly share topic suggestions on issues related to personal development and thriving as a young lady in Africa. Thank you!
