Ifar and Eid dress for underprivileged children (news)



Here's the English version of your press rs a joyous occasion, especially for children. Shopping centers overflow with crowds as families buy new clothes for their little ones. Many children eagerly hide their new outfits, fearing they might lose their freshness before Eid. But amidst this celebration, there are countless underprivileged children whose Eid passes by in worn-out clothes and hunger. How many of us truly think about them? How many step forward to bring joy to their lives?


Keeping these children in mind, every year, the volunteer organization Sombhabona delivers Eid gifts to them.


On Saturday, March 22, 21st Ramadan, Sombhabona organized a unique Eid Festival and Iftar program—"Pushpokoli Eid Festival and Iftar 2025"—in Mirpur for underprivileged children. The event brought together 200 children from Pushpokoli School, run by Sombhabona, alongside people from various sectors of society to share iftar together.


Several distinguished guests attended the program, including Mohammad Muslim Chowdhury, Chairman of Sonali Bank Bangladesh; Mohammad Tofazzal Ali, Executive Director of Standard Group; Kakoli Jahan Ahmed, Executive Director of Bangladesh Bank; Dr. Kazi Safayet Enam, Founder of Sombhabona; Ariful Islam, Mushfika Nishat co founder of Sombhabona, Founder of JCI Dhaka Independent; Tasnuva Ahmed, Local Vice President of JCI Bangladesh; and Sombhabona's Co-Founders Al Amin Hossain and Arefin Mahadi. Additionally, Sombhabona volunteers and well-wishers also participated.

Sombhabona started its journey in 2011, working towards the development and empowerment of marginalized communities. Over the past 14 years, the organization has successfully implemented multiple projects, including:P

  • Pushpokoli School – Providing education to underprivileged children.

  • Onondito Naree – Empowering disadvantaged women through skill development and financial independence.

  • Shonirvor (Self-Reliance) Project – Creating employment opportunities for youth.
  • Sombhabona ICT Center – A new initiative offering free IT training to unemployed and underprivileged youth, ensuring permanent employment opportunities for both men and women. With the motto "Right to Technology, Commitment to an Enlightened Life," the ICT project aims to spread digital literacy across all social levels.

  • Short-Term Training Programs – Sombhabona provides free handicrafts and entrepreneurship development training for underprivileged women in rural areas across all 64 districts of Bangladesh.


Through these initiatives, Sombhabona remains committed to uplifting the lives of underprivileged children, women, and youth, striving for a more inclusive and empowered society.
