I’m just a girl !

I’m just a girl who was born in the dusty space of Tsholotsho.

Where the winds carried dreams we couldn’t afford to speak aloud,

And bare feet were a daily reality, not a trend.

My father… a farmer , was married to three wives . My mum being the third 😊

My dad’s hands told stories of survival—of waking up before the sun and sleeping only when the land had been honored.

We relied on farming

Maize, groundnuts, sorghum—

What we grew is what we ate. What we sold… became our fees, our bus fare, our hope.

Some nights, when the harvest was thin, hope was even thinner.

But I always believed, somehow, there was more for me beyond the dusty path I walked each day.

When Life Said No !

I failed my O’ Level.

Not because I didn’t try.

But because sometimes effort is not enough… especially when life throws curveballs and poverty becomes the loudest voice in the room.

I remember sitting under a tree with my results,

My heart was heavy, my dreams spinning.

I had no plan B.

But I knew I couldn’t afford to stay broken.

So I started planning…

Not for a perfect life—

But for a way to survive, it.

To rise, even if I had to crawl.

To rebuild, even if I had to use the pieces life left behind.

I Still Believed…

Even when life gave me every reason to give up,

I still believed.

I believed that change would come—

Not from a miracle falling from the sky,

But from the fight within me, I refuse to give in.

I believed in sweat.

I believed in saving coins while others were laughing.

I believed that dignity was not just for the rich.

Because deep down, I knew…

Even dust can become a platform when you want to stand on it purposefully.

So now I ask you...

What do you do when life says you're finished—

But the fire in your soul says, ‘Not yet?
