For IWD2012:

For My Sisters

I am in awe of your courage in the face of unimaginable hardship and pain

I am in disbelief that the world does not rise up in outrage at the global lack of equality for women

I am angry at the lack of attention paid, lack of humanity, lack of understanding that our world is at risk

I am sad at the loss of contributions these women are capable of making to the world and its problems

I am in shock at the continued level of violence & aggression applied as a solution to the world's problems

I am confused that our leaders have not learned from the past

I am frustrated that those who believe in peace and prosperity for all do not hold power

I am afraid that our future as humans is in jeapardy because men and women do not lead together as equals

I am certain that women hold the answer to a new approach and a new world

I am hopeful that the world will listen and understand that there is another way before it is too late
