Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
It's taken me a lifetime to understand that no life becomes truly great until it is focused and dedicated to greatness. I was a child prodigy and began my college education at age 10, primarily to avoid school busing and the dangerous route I needed to take to attend my zoned public school. I was admitted to one of the top engineering schools in the country at age 15, and eventually was accepted into Harvard's doctoral program in Science, Technology and Public Policy. I did not finish the program despite completing my course work, because I truly didn't belong there.

After Harvard, I returned to what I knew -- defense electronics, and eventually started working in missile engineering. My husband and I were blessed with one of the smallest babies ever born in our county, and through this experience, I finally understood what it meant to be alive. Our son is quite healthy now primarily because my education, skills, and finances afforded us the opportunity to demand and receive the best care available. Fortunately, we were allowed to stay at the Ronald McDonald house and there I met what I was missing, the countless parents who love their children just as much as we love our child but who did not have the wherewithal to fight the system, and it was heartbreaking.

Once my eyes were open, it became impossible for me to shut them to the problems in the world. I have many gifts to help the world and I look forward to being associated with people who are trying to heal the world. Enough damage has been done.
