Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I am an Attorney in private practice who is passionate about policy reform, socio-economic development and a hybrid of human rights issues. Having had the privilege of being a citizen of two African countries (namely Tanzania - my country of origin, and Botswana - through naturalization) and having had the fortune of residing in and visiting a number of countries across the globe; I have conceived a strong and growing desire to ensure that the world is a hospitable and conducive place for all of its current and future citizens, in particular; women and children. As the saying goes, ‘a nation cannot be free until its women are free’.
In addition to my legal work, I am the founder of the Community Outreach Department of the law firm that I work in and I am currently embarking on a project that would mainstream gender sensitization into the curriculum of the police cadets in Botswana.
I am also a member of the World Economic Forum’s Global Shapers Community, under the Gaborone Hub, where I serve as the Vice Curator.
As a One Young World (OYW) Botswana Ambassador, I have been engaged in crucial dialogues on climate change, good governance and leadership and social business. Having attended the 2013 OYW Conference in Johannesburg, I have benefited from receiving counsel from the likes of Sir Bob Geldof, Sir Richard Branson, Arianna Huffington, to name just a few.
Having recently been selected as a Trust Women Scholar under the Thomson Reuters Foundation, I look forward to taking up more tasks that are aimed enforcing and protecting women and girls rights.
My life’s motto is embedded in one of her favourite quotes by Benjamin Franklin, which says:" The noblest question in the world is: “What good may I do in it?"

My Passions:
Human Rights, Education, Policy Reform, Development Issues

My Challenges:
Being in a third world country that is considered middle income means that access to finances through fundraising and sponsorship becomes quite a challenge. Balancing my day job with the initiatives that I am involved in.
