About Me: I am from England and have lived in the USA for 30 years. Four years ago my daughter went to Rwanda as a volunteer teacher. When she found out that students were excluded from school for non payment of fees, we started a foundation to help secondary school students pay their fees so they could get a high school education. That is how the Kurera Foundation was born. Knowing how desperately this education is wanted by the students is the motivation that keeps us going with our fund raising. I am passionate about volunteering both at home and globally. To me providing an education is the most sustainable for of aid. My Passions: Helping teens realize their potential. My Challenges: Deciding where to channel my energy when there is so much need and so much I want to do. My Vision for the Future: Universal education, through high school, for all.
