Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
Elezya Lane is a proud Texan reared by a family deeply rooted in service to community and love of people. Her family insisted that all family members volunteer for service in the community, and she began her life of service at thirteen as a Candy Striper at Johnson County Memorial Hospital. She was a high school staff member of an at Risk High School in Texas that compelled her to serve as a Just Serve AmeriCorps member at Garfield Teen Life Center. She worked for Seattle Parks and Recreation for seven years in numerous roles. Elezya has also served the community in a number of non-profits in the Greater Seattle Area since 1998 and specializes in funding raising efforts for several community-based programs. Elezya began volunteering as a doula with Open Arms in 2010. She is continuing her education in becoming a midwife. Elezya is currently an OutReach Specialist for young mothers in need of mentorship and doula services through MotherWit Services. Elezya is also an Phi Theta Kappa and Phi Beta Lambda alumni member. She is the mother of two young adults.
