Introducing myself and my journal

About Me:
I was born to a Greek/German mother and a Senegalese father in Dakar, Senegal. At the age of 2 my sister and I were placed in an SOS Children's Village in Germany, where we spent all of our childhood. I spent time in the US as a young exchange student, and after starting my undergraduate studies at the University of Mannheim, Germany, I came to the US on a scholarship to finish my degree. I went on to earn a MA in International Relations, and have taught 6th Grade Social Studies in a school in North Carolina, have worked for a PR firm in Heidelberg, Germany, and after relocating to the US, I have worked in education and cultural outreach in Atlanta, Georgia. I am currently with a small non-profit - the Georgia Council for International Visitors - where I work as the Deputy Director, and help coordinate programs for international delegations sent to us by the U.S. Department of State.

I strongly believe in women as a change-agent, because I have been a witness to the power of women all of my life. Growing up in an SOS Children's Villages, in households led by women I had an opportunity to experience how women can work hand-in-hand with each other to make a true change for children in need.

My Passions:
Advocay work for children
