About Me: Roger Burks is Senior Writer for Mercy Corps. Over the course of six years, he has traveled to more than a dozen countries — including Democratic Republic of the Congo, China, Uganda, Mongolia and Kosovo — to explore and document the agency's work. He also took part in Mercy Corps' emergency responses to the Haiti earthquake and Hurricane Katrina. Burks served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the small West African nation of Togo.
