Introducing myself and my journal: Cést moi

About Me:
I am a young woman, even though compared to my sisters, I am older. I am a Sociologist. Studying Sociology was the best thing that happened to me as it has impacted my work and life tremendously. Iam passionate about women, gender and social justice. I co-founded the orgnaization I work for and am its driving force.I believe that as an older person I have a responsiblity to nurture young people especially females,so I demand the best from the young people I work with. This isnt nice for them, I know ,but standards of harwork, committment, passion, smart quick thinking cannot be compromised. I think of my self as a gender expert and dare to call myself a gender auditor having undergone the training at the ITC Turin! I am currently undergoing a professional teacher trianing at the post graduate level so I can better deliver my training sessions as well as become a professional teacher. I am also working on a doctoral degree in Sociology at the Ahmadu Bello University(ABU), Zaria and this is a very tough task!!!! Sometimes I think I won't be able to make it but am determeined not to give up!!!

My Passions:
Women, Gender and Social justice

My Challenges:
dealing with younger people who do not seem to have a vision of anything or tommorrow but are only concerned witht the now and mundane and have no interrest with what goes on around them politically, socially or economically; dealing with men and women who restrict you because of your sex

My Vision for the Future:
A world where I am not judge by my sex or colour or country and where these do not stand against me

My Areas of Expertise:
Gender, women's rights, governance, capacity building, economic and social rights, SRHR
