Introducing myself and my journal: Development Monitor



About Me:
I am a Lawyer, researcher, women's rights activist and a Gender and climate change expert. I am the current exceutive Director Of Centre for 21st Century Issues (C21st), Coordinator, Gender, Environment and Climate Action Network (GECAN) Nigeria and CEO Development Media Services. In addition, I am a member of the core advisory Board of the Gender and climate change Cutting Edge Pack Project of the Institute of Development Studies, University of succex, U.K
I am an alumnus of the prestigious Environmental Leaders Program (ELP) of the University of California, USA and the International Visitor Leadership program of the U.S state Department.
Since 2008 I have been advocating for the inclusion of gender and women's perspectives into climate change responses from local to global through participation in various meetings and advocacy on gender and climate change; and using the media especially the social media to raise awareness about gender and women's concerns in climate change discourses.
I am currently conducting a research on gender and climate change for Lagos state government of Nigeria and assisting the state to mainstream gender into their climate change policy framework. I am also working on a media program titled the Voices of Urban Women on Climate change.
