About Me:
My name is Alice Muhonja Simiyu the founder and Executive Director of Safisha AfricaWelfare Foundation.I hold a bachelors divinity degree from st.Pauls university and working om Masters degree at the u iversity of Nairobi in Community development and rural sociology cluster.I was married for over 20 years and served as a Pastor together with my husband who rose to high rank in the Church .After the Church I served learned that my husband who was a Pastor was unfaithful and that he married they dismissed me with no penny, tortured me psychologically, plus the four children who needed to continue with education, to eat and be clothed. .He was retired and given benefits and he ran away from us as a family leaving me with the children, with arrears of house rent,no job,no money,no nothing.I followed him twice he beated me up and threw me away and said he doesn't want to see me.He asked the landlord to throw us outside the house if we had no money to pay and when I told the church I had served for over 20 years they said they can do nothing to the situation.I became confident in my self and and started working of the organization on how to get the volunteers assist me with teaching for I had no money to pay anybody because the little salary I used to earn, was taken away from me and the children I supported needed help as I could not tell them anything. For six months the Church met in committees about my issue whether to have me or dismiss me without thinking what my own children were eating how they could go to school and college .One of my son in the high school had arrears up to us dollars 1500 and now the principal of the school could not have him any more due to the high school fees arrears. The internet assisted me find a volunteer who was so sympathetic to the situation when he came to volunteer with the organization and paid the whole amount to allow my son continue with education. The same volunteer became the sponsor of my four children both in high school and college.
Iam here as an example to many women are desperate and just wondering what to do for themselves. If tears helped ,I would have been assisted the most but I decided instead of crying to stand up and see what the world there can do through the internet and the solution to my search has been answered.
As an good example I run a project helping women and those with children whose fathers have abandoned them and have no knowledge whatsoever ,others have escaped terrible violence and other husbands have run away from families just to mention few.I offer hope into their lives and a better hope to children in a classroom.
