Introducing myself and my journal: Finding My Path

About Me:
I am a first year university student studying engineering. I love to run, play the cello, read, learn new languages, spend time with my family and much more. I'm still trying to figure out how to incorporate all that I love and believe is important into my life work. I hope to work both to address humanitarian issues, education for girls in particular, and the environmental issues that face our planet today. One way I could possibly see myself merging these goals is by focusing on education for girls in impoverished areas of the world. Educating girls has been shown to decrease birthrates, helping to slow population growth. Furthermore, providing pathways for girls to enter fields such as science and engineering would allow them to contribute to sustainable development for their countries. Well, if you can't tell, I'm a bit of a dreamer but hopefully these dreams will help me make some difference in the world.
My Passions:
Pretty much everyting.
My Challenges:
Focusing on one thing at a time. I tend to see both all of the issue and all of the opportunities in the world at once and don't know where to start. Also, communication.
My Vision for the Future:
A world in which all girls (and boys) have access to education and a healthy planet.
My Areas of Expertise:
Not much at this point, we'll see in a few years.
