About Me:
Sana Afouaiz is 21 years old, proudly Moroccan, studying Communication and Management of information science in “Ecole des Sciences d’Information". She speaks Arabic, French, English, Tamazight and Spanish.
She is the Regional Coordinator of “Moroccan Youth Climate Movement” which is an independent platform for young Moroccans who are working to find solutions to the climate crisis
She is correspondent of the “Voice of Women Initiative”, where she promotes gender equality and opposes the perpetuation of gender discrimination, and uses innovative approaches by encouraging women to tell their story by using media as a way to stop violence and inequality.
She is a government visitor and student leader in “Middle East Partnership Initiative” Program; she explored diverse issues around leadership and civic engagement in United States. A member in steering committee of Local Chapter of MEPI Network; She helps to encourage volunteering, spread democratic principles and push others to become effective in their communities. Moroccan Representative in “the Regional Model Arab League Stimulation” in Tunisia, which is debating about policy-relevant issues among the government institutions, civil society, and citizens in the Arab world. She is the Moroccan representative in conference “Democracy, citizenship and youth participation", with Salto-program in Egypt. She worked as volunteer assistant in Injaz Al Maghreb; which contributes to the emergence of a new generation of entrepreneurs. Member of the national steering committee of United Nations UNV Youth Volunteering in Arab States, which is about enhancing the sense of volunteering within Arab youth. Project Manager of « Advocacy Learning » project is about using innovative service-learning to promote competence in advocacy, also to provide access to tools for self- development and challenge the social oppressions. She is the International delegate of World Conference on Youth 2014, which is about discussing the Post-2015 Agenda in Sri Lanka. Also, she is a member of the task team of “Global Accountability and Governance Task Team” working with Restless Development organization.
Sana is a Blogger for the Women Earth Climate Action Network and Trainer in the field of Climate Change, Youth Empowerment and Women’s rights.
