Introducing myself and my journal: Love and Organizing

About Me:
I am a queer, white city-girl who finds herself in small-town Massachusetts, US. A few years ago, I fell into the US-based Reproductive Justice framework and my life have been completely changed. Using the lens of Reproductive Justice, all of the various work that I do makes sense; it is the axis from which all of the spokes of my life originate. Currently these spokes include:

*Collective Member/Trainer of www.TranslateGender.org
*Board of Directors member and Young Women's Leadership Council member of the Pro-Choice Public Education Project (www.protectchoice.org) in New York City
*Program Assistant at the Civil Liberties and Public Policy Program based at Hampshire College (http://clpp.hampshire.edu) in Amherst, Massachusetts
*Childcare provider for the Prison Birth Project in Pioneer Valley, Massachusetts
*Front Page Blogger at www.amplifyyourvoice.org

As a young woman, I strive to support fellow young people in all of the work that I do, raise awareness about gender diversity, build community, celebrate the positive work that I'm apart of and that I witness, and constructively criticize those that perpetuate oppression and hate. Most of all, I hope to continue to push myself and challenge myself to recognize and deal with my own privileges and oppressions and to push my communities to do the same.

My Passions:
Reproductive Justice and Gender Justice

My Challenges:
Building community in a transitional town. Being far away from family.

My Vision for the Future:
A world where economic, social, and political power is shared; where dialogue is the standard method of communication; and where difference does not create fear.

My Areas of Expertise:
Community organizing. Abortion values exploration. Working with youth. Reproductive Justice. Gender Justice.
