Introducing myself and my journal: Phinnie's Journey

About Me:
My home is in Oregon and I love travelling to new places and meeting new people. Not just meeting people, but really connecting and sharing stories and passions. I lived in Beirut, Lebanon during my teen years and that was life-changing in terms of my values and priorities. I love World Pulse and support Global Fund for Women, the American Friends Service Committee's peace work, and Kiva and I am currently reading Half the Sky. I am very concerned about the environment and want to do more to make positive changes. I am employed at a community college working with women who are currently unemployed, "coaching" them to believe in their self-worth and to take positive steps towards self-sufficiency by furthering their education and/or increasing their marketable skills by seeking volunteer opportunities. I also enjoy teaching a College Success seminar. I live 2 hours from the Pacific Ocean and when I am at the coast, I feel as though the ocean feeds my soul!

My Passions:
Dolphins, the ocean, rainbows, and networking with others...Reading to children and hanging out with my 5 grandchildren!

My Challenges:
Having patience, listening without interrupting, reducing my carbon footprint

My Vision for the Future:
PEACE, EQUITY, Sharing of Resources

My Areas of Expertise:
Recognizing the positive in situations and focusing on building on strengths, Group Facilitation, Networking
