Introducing myself and my journal: Progression: documenting forms of serendipidy

About Me:
As an avid journaler of the old school format, this new open forum is (to me) somewhat intimidating. I need to confront and own this fear of writing publicly first, before launching into the immense depth and perspective I know it offers. I feel vulnerable publishing my thoughts online, though I've filled volumes of notebooks that simply sit the closet of my parent's house. What a wonderful new challenge to find at the exact time that creative writing has come into my life in yet another different form. Something feels profoundly auspicious about these two independent events.

This opportunity to join Pulse Wire could not have come at a better moment. I am so thrilled to embark on this new journey, having literally only read about Pulse Wire minutes ago. My passion for writing is in equal parts from my own perspective and for writing women's stories who do not have the possibility to do so. My current project, in its nascent stages, is for survivors of domestic violence to tell their stories themselves while I find the means to get them made public; a literary midwife, of sorts.

I look forward to sharing more in the coming days.

My Passions:
challenging myself with new things to learn and do, advocating women's rights & gender equality, running, hiking, yoga, dancing, spirituality, being present in the Now

My Challenges:
being present in the Now, being as compassionate toward myself as i am toward others, slowing down, not to take myself so seriously

My Vision for the Future:
To contribute to the global movement of equality; to add my voice to this cause

My Areas of Expertise:
international development, gender issues, domestic violence, teaching ESL
