Introducing myself and my journal: She Blossoms

About Me:
I am a Kenyan, in my mid-twenties, working as a writer and editor for Storymoja, a publishing firm in Kenya. I have learnt through time and pain, to love and live life, to be a positive influence to those around me, to do all the little things that make a difference, because someone did them for me and thus I am alive. I believe in the strength of a woman, the power of words, and the beauty of life, even when life seems to be more painful than it should be. I keep a blog at www.jmaruru.wordpress.com to celebrate my life, and values, my work as a volunteer, and the people who matter most in my life.

My Passions:
Writing, Reading, Working with children

My Challenges:
Mild chronic Depression, and Myalgia Encephalitis, which is a big word for chronic fatigue, chronic nerve and muscle pain, migraines and hormone instability in my case.

My Vision for the Future:
This world can be a place where children can be children as long as they are children.

My Areas of Expertise:
Creative writing, Editorial work
