Introducing myself and my journal: The status of Young Women in Bangladesh

About Me:
I am Tania Mostari, an 18 years old young woman from Bangladesh. Since 14 I have been working with Adolescent Girls Alliance, an alliance of individual school and slum girls, developed by PHREB (www.phreb.org) to empower girls and young women who are vulnerable to gender based violence to become leaders of change. In 2006, the second adolescent girls annual summit held in Chakaria, Cox's Bazar elected me as the President of BKAF (Adolescent Girls Alliance).

The PHREB Board of Directors appointed me as the Program Director of PHREB in January 2007. I am a student and working part time for PHREB to make human rights real for my sisters.

Bangladesh is one of the world's worst places for women and girls. It is a living hell for women. I believe that empowering young women through developing their leadership capacities we are advancing women to lead the change. Changes must come by women in Bangladesh.
