Introducing myself and my journal: voice of a vagabond.

About Me:
Much of my life I have dreamed up wild dreams and then realized that as a woman those dreams are not acceptable nor considered as feasible by the society I live in. Much of these societal hindrances are centered around the excessive adoration of the concept of safety. A girl's dreams are often deemed "too risky" because they involve stepping out of the "comfort zone." A girl (and granted, just about anybody) is considered naive if she believes she can "live outside the box." This mindset invokes a restlessness within me, as I remain painstakingly aware that the majority of women lead the sheer opposite of a "safe" life. Daily facing the challenge of being the "bearer of life" all the while staring death in the face, these women have become my heroes. They prove to me that a safe life does not equate to a life well lived. In risking themselves to preserve and protect life, it is there that they have found it.
My discovery of this website was indeed a celebration! I am grateful to now be able to partake in the sharing of life with my sisters all around the world, to learn from their stories, to cry, to pray, to laugh, and to even in some small way to help rebuild.
Thank you World Pulse.
