Introducing myself and my journal: We must be the change.

As a woman I strongly support the empowerment and growth of other women. I am originally from Jamaica and worked in many volunteer projects with women there. I am from a family of strong women and have in spite of adversities I have faced in my own life benefited from special women who empowered me to become the woman I am today. Currently I am a graduate student in conflict analysis and resolution and I have a background in education and mental health counseling.I am also the creative director of the harmony dispute resolution services. A company that offers dispute resolution services to schools, communities, individuals and businesses in Jamaica.

I truly believe that if we want a change we have to be the catalyst for change by our words and our actions. This experience as a listener will give me the opportunity to listen to these women’s stories and remotely share in their experiences for my own growth and empowerment. I believe that learning takes place in many different arenas and we all can learn from each other.
