Introducing myself and my journal: WorldCare

About Me:
In the late '80s and early '90s I took study trips with a small group, to Honduras, Guatemala, Nicagragua, El Salvador, and South Africa. At home I produced scripted slide programs, and marketed them myself to show to local community groups (Chicago western suburbs). I wanted to wake-up the settled suburbs here, to see the realities of so many good lives. I've always had a deep empathy for those who are oppressed, especially when my own government or my own strengths have caused this. These are ugly dilemmas. We in the U.S. cannot ignore the plights of those women, more often oppressed by their own culture, when we have so many rights ourselves. Women have intelligence and strength to contribute well to their own societies, when freed up to do so. I applaud the new World Pulse for it's fine efforts to bring us together in this online network. I am retired now, and spend time on the arts.

My Passions:
Painting: nature subjects, also antiwar themes, and new for me: women's justice themes. Just painted the event where the Catcholic officials stated that women being ordained as priests, is as bad as their priests' pedophilia. WHAT???!!!!

My Challenges:
To continue to write of injustices when possible (in poetry), and to paint subjects based on injustice, and against war.

My Vision for the Future:
The internet provides a marvelous place for those of many cultures and situations to communicate, so I see changes for the oppressed linked to this communication. Making the dreadful known, can make a change.

My Areas of Expertise:
Writing poetry; putting subtle ideas, bold ideas, into concise poems. Also, painting in wateroclor, and acrylic on canvas.
