It starts with me

Coming from what is perceived a third world continent, I came to North America with obviously pre-conceived ideas of how my living would be like. As I grew into the roles my life path has gifted me to partake, I was in for a rude awakening.

Violence and inequality was/is a part of North America Culture, to the point were bringing awareness to the matter, you are only labeled as a noise maker or an ugly, unwanted, lonely woman. This culture has indeed normalized the ugliness of violence, it is almost a trend.

The “It starts with me Campaign” is hopelessness and anger’s attempt to bring the change I want to see in the world, breaking the norms of violence and being accountable

My vision:

“Let’s start talking , be loud”

Creating workshops or talks within schools inclusive of parents
Creating a world pulse annual event in Canada – Female empowerment and ownership of the struggle, creating sisterhood
Being a resource portal –

Many times I have started and stopped, let this be a beginning.
