Just heard that we can make a difference

Well i just heard that we can make a difference. We didn't do much - met with a community of people living with HIV and supporting one another in Kenya. I found out that the children (18) were not getting treatment because the centre for them was too far and the cost too great. Well i couldn't move the centre (or thought i couldn't) but I did have enough money in my jeans to allow the kids to make the first trip to Nairobi for care. I asked the good pastor looking after them to ask if paediatric treatment could come to them. He did and the answer was yes - so now the kids only have to walk 7 km. to the nearest VTC centre. What a relief - and we will continue to try to helps to that they can hire a car taxi to get them to care monthly. I can just imagine seeing those kids the next time i am in kenya!!

now we just have to make sure that stigma doesn't destroy the childhood of these wee ones.
