JUST PLASTERS ON OPEN WOUNDS

Our T shirts

This how I feel about all the  iniatative s that  are in place to protect our women from domestic abuse and violence

Our Governments  spend millions, adviced by those who assume they know, to create window dressing, yes  programme s are put in place, policing units are set up, lifelines are available toll free , NGOs and shelters make themselves available, awareness programmes and  drives are taken throughout communities

Yet our numbers rise, yet incidence continue with no intervention, because the help that's available on the other end of the line is never initiated, the awareness that was put out there via the media after the last statistic to encourage women to identify abuse are useless as we continue to blindly trust potential perpetrator s

How can a man convicted of physical abuse, be incasterated, serve prision time and return to the scene of the initial crime and finish the job

What does this say, no rehabilitation, no remorse, by the abuser, I believe the men and boys need our help, they need our attention, I believe abusers need rehabilitation, we have a problem and we need to fix it..

We put so much in place to assist the victim but at the critical moment it's in shambles, no intervention to insure the safety of victim during the time of his incaseration, no attempt by the victim to insure their own safety? I have a million question s, but what is the answer, is there an answer?

If the perpetrator is allowed to leave incaseration, without informing the victim or providing counselling to  understand his state of mind or intentions, then we are failing, housding and programmes are of no use if the human element is absent. Too many missing parts. The photo looks good on paper but the BTS is in a mess.

And we are becoming desensitised, as a our last number didn't seem to evoke not even a footnote from the media, the powers that be, the watchdogs, seem to have fallen asleep or is it that their arns are falling  from bring to overwhelmed or too weak.

My own dream is to be part of the solution, but the funding is not available to me, I am invisible in the equation thus far, but I thrive on hope and faith and the encouragement  World Pulse, that I will create an effective safe haven, not just another plaxter on an open wound.
