On the 11th of October, World Pulse Kenya proudly hosted a virtual webinar in celebration of World Pulse at 20! ๐ This milestone marked two decades of empowering women, amplifying voices, and fostering impactful change across the globe. The theme of our celebration was Mainstreaming Gender Diversity and Inclusion, and the event was organized by our powerhouse Terry Mumbi, who did a phenomenal job bringing the community together and also moderated the session.
Our keynote speaker, Dr. Ngutu from the University of Nairobi, captivated the audience with her insightful presentation on the importance of promoting gender diversity and inclusivity in every aspect of society. She highlighted how the journey towards inclusion is one that requires collective effort, emphasizing the need for both structural and cultural changes to ensure that no one is left behind.
The webinar saw 26 participants joining from various corners of the world, including Kenya, South Africa, Togo, and even a group of students from China. It was a beautiful reminder of how interconnected we are as a global community, united by our shared passion for gender equality.
The session was not only informative but also deeply inspiring. It underscored the progress made and the work still ahead of us in ensuring that gender diversity and inclusion are more than just buzzwords, but lived realities for all.
As we celebrate this incredible 20-year milestone, we look ahead to a future where the voices of women and marginalized groups are heard louder, and their contributions recognized and valued. Hereโs to many more years of change, impact, and solidarity!
