Let’s Read the True Story of a Real Hero in Bangladesh
I feel truly blessed to witness thousands of incredible success stories—stories of resilience, courage, and transformation. As a researcher, an entrepreneur managing multiple organizations, a student, and a housewife, I rarely find time for social media. But if I did, I would share every inspiring journey I’ve come across, so that more people can find the strength to rise above poverty, inequality, and injustice.
Today, I want to share the story of Nafiza—a young girl whose life is a testament to perseverance.
Nafiza, who studied only up to the eighth grade, dreams of becoming an entrepreneur. However, just a year ago, her dreams were uncertain. She lost her father at a very young age, and financial hardship forced her to drop out of school. At the age of five, she and her mother were evicted from their home. Until three months ago, they lived as dependents in a relative’s house, struggling to survive.
But today, Nafiza’s story is different. Now, she and her mother live in a small rented home—not wealthy, but filled with dignity and hope. Nafiza no longer wants to dwell on her painful past. She wants to move forward, build a future of her own, and become a successful entrepreneur.
Sumaiya, another young girl from the same institution, shares a similar journey. She grew up in the Gudaraghat slum in Kalshi, where even a single ray of light is hard to find. There, the idea of a future shaped by technology was nothing more than a distant dream. But Sumaiya refused to let her circumstances define her. Through the Sombhabona ICT Center, she gained valuable skills, and today, she is shaping her own destiny.
Like Nafiza and Sumaiya, nearly a thousand students have received training through Sombhabona’s skill development projects, and they are now rewriting their futures.
Every day, I witness real heroes—people who rise from adversity, fight against poverty, and claim their right to a better life. These stories deserve to be heard, because they remind us all: change is possible. All it takes is opportunity, support, and unwavering determination.
And together, we can create more success stories.
