Artisan is sewing Khamak Style

Once upon a time, in the heart of Afghanistan, a group of extraordinary women artisans fought to keep their culture alive through their incredible handmade skills. Each of these women carried a unique talent, passed down through generations, that represented the rich and diverse traditions of their homeland. But these women weren't just artists—they were the last guardians of their culture, the ones who held the threads of history in their hands.

Despite their talents, life was not easy for them. They struggled to find ways to support themselves and their families. Their skills, though invaluable, were not enough to provide a stable livelihood. That’s when LAWANG Clothing Community stepped in.

From 2021 to 2024, LAWANG Clothing Community took a stand for these artisans, creating job opportunities and supporting their work. Through various initiatives, we helped more than 300 women artisans generate income, giving them a source of livelihood for three crucial months. But our journey didn’t stop there.

Now, we are working on a special collection, crafted entirely by these talented women, to introduce it to the world. This collection is more than just clothing—it’s a celebration of culture, a tribute to the artisans who keep it alive, and a way to share the beauty of Afghanistan with the globe.

At LAWANG, we believe that artisans are the backbone of preserving culture. By supporting them, we can help their traditions flourish and ensure that their rich heritage is shared and appreciated worldwide. Together, we can make sure that the culture of Afghanistan not only survives but thrives.
