Malak a 13 year old granddaughter changed 5th anniversary from pain to pride

From Pain to Pride: Malek’s Gift to Her Grandfather

September 11, 2025, is a day filled with profound meaning for our family. It marks the fifth anniversary of the passing of Sheikh Ibrahim Ghandour, a man who loved reading deeply and whose greatest wish was for his daughter to become an author. He left the world at the age of 80, leaving behind an amazing reputation for his wisdom, generosity, and love for knowledge.

Today, that wish has found its way into the next generation. Malek’s poem was published in the book Empowered on the very day of her grandfather’s anniversary. It is not a coincidence—far from it. The universe itself seems to have turned our sorrow into joy.

The pain of losing him has transformed into pride. Through her writing, Malek honors his memory, carrying forward the dream he held for his family. On this day, September 11, what once was a day of grief now sparkles with pride, hope, and celebration.

Rest in peace, Ibrahim Ghandour. Your children and grandchildren will always carry the glory of your words—in their own words, in their hearts, and in their actions. Malek has turned September 11 from a day of pain into a day of pride, giving your legacy life once again.
