Hello to the beautiful souls of this organization! My name is Samantha Margarette C. Mortel, I’m 19 years old and currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Palawan State University in the Philippines.
I serve as the President and Assistant Instructor of a Taekwondo Club, the Minister on Audit of the 12th Political Science Parliament, the Executive Secretary of the Communications and Partnerships Committee in All Things Feminista, the Club Adviser of Retro Le Chanteurs Club, a member of JCI Puerto Princesa Peacock, Inc., and a member of the ASEAN Youth Organization. I’ve been a student-leader for as long as I can remember — advocating for student welfare, inclusion, and empowerment in every space I’m part of.
I joined World Pulse because I believe in the power of women sharing their voices and visions. I hope to find a community where stories are not just heard but felt deeply. I also believe that this is a space where I can grow by listening, learning, and eventually leading with more love and strength.
My greatest passions lie in storytelling, community service, diplomacy, politics, governance, and youth empowerment. I’ve always been fascinated by the ways communication can shape people’s hearts and change lives. I’m most inspired by women who lead with gentleness and fire, those who dare to show up for others and themselves despite the odds.
I live in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan, which is also known to be the last ecological frontier of the Philippines. My favorite thing about my community is how progressive we are while simultaneously trying to preserve, learn, and respect our indigenous roots. Despite facing many challenges, our sense of togetherness is what truly protects the advocacies and interests we continuously fight for.
As for my name: Samantha means “listener” or “God heard,” and Margarette is often linked to “pearl.” I love how my name reminds me that I was born not just to speak but also to understand and protect things that are rare and valuable, like kindness, peace, and truth.
Now, here’s a question: What story from your life taught you the most about who you are? I’d love to read it and get to know your heart better.
Thank you for reading mine. Let’s rise together!
