Meant to Become a Mentor

From Storyteller to Changemaker to Mentor: Embracing My Worth on World Pulse

I began on World Pulse as a storyteller.

At first, my words were quiet, almost hesitant. I shared my experiences, my struggles, my dreams — unsure if anyone would listen, unsure if my voice mattered.

But slowly, I noticed something remarkable: women from around the world responded. They told me that my story gave them courage, that my words made them feel less alone. In those moments, I realized that storytelling is not just about being heard; it is about lighting the spark of hope in someone else.

That was my first transformation: from storyteller to changemaker.

A changemaker is not someone who has all the answers. A changemaker is someone who refuses to stay silent when she sees the need for action, someone who believes in the ripple effect of courage. When I began writing with more intention, I shared not only my journey but also the voices of others whose stories might otherwise be unheard. I discovered that one voice, when spoken with conviction, can inspire countless others to speak, act, and rise.

Then came my next turning point: mentorship training.

At first, I thought I was there simply to learn how to guide others. But what I discovered went far deeper. The mentors in the program were true changemakers — women and men who had overcome immense challenges yet chose to lift others as they climbed. They didn’t measure success in titles or accolades; they measured it in the strength, courage, and hope they ignited in those they guided.

One mentor said something that has stayed with me:

“A mentor is someone who believes in your future when your present feels heavy.”

These words awakened me. I realized that mentorship is not only about teaching skills — it is about planting hope, showing belief, and lighting a path for someone else to follow.

And so, I stepped into my next chapter: becoming a mentor myself.

I began by taking small steps: responding to stories on World Pulse, offering encouragement, and sharing lessons from my own journey. I found that the smallest act of support — a kind word, a thoughtful question, a message of belief — can have a profound impact.

World Pulse has given me a space to be more than just a storyteller or a changemaker; it has given me the courage to be a mentor. And in this new role, I am proud to commit myself to helping other women realize their potential, find their voice, and see their worth.

I also knew that I wanted this commitment to be living, visible, and accountable. That is why I decided to hold a monthly reflection and sharing session. Once a month, I will meet with those I mentor to discuss progress, celebrate achievements, and navigate challenges together. These gatherings will allow me to track the change I am leaving in others — and that, in turn, is essential for my own growth.

I feel hopeful knowing that I can observe and measure the impact of my guidance. Seeing others flourish gives me tangible proof that my efforts are meaningful. This process is now part of my self-assessment of being an ongoing, progressive person — someone who strives not only to improve herself but also to inspire improvement in others.

When I reflect on this journey, I am reminded of the timeless wisdom of Imam Ali (a.s.), who said that we must strive hard to prosper, progress, and improve. World Pulse has made me feel that I am worth this striving — that my voice, my guidance, and my hope can make a difference. Every story I share, every encouragement I give, is a step toward improvement — for myself and for the women I mentor.

To every woman reading this: know that your story matters. Your voice matters. Your dreams matter. You are worth every effort, every risk, every moment of courage. And when you take steps to inspire others, you create ripples of change far beyond what you can see.

Mentorship, I have learned, is not one-sided. While I guide and support, I also grow. I learn from the courage of others, from their resilience, from their belief in themselves. This reciprocity is what makes mentorship a force for transformation — a force that can elevate entire communities of women across the world.

I have witnessed firsthand how hope spreads. A single message of encouragement can spark confidence. A story shared can ignite belief. A mentor who listens can help someone find their own strength. And in turn, these women, inspired and empowered, can become changemakers and mentors themselves, continuing the cycle of growth and hope.

World Pulse has given me the platform to do this work, but the real power comes from the women themselves. From the women who dare to share, who dare to rise, who dare to believe in their worth. And from the women who choose to mentor, who choose to invest in others, who choose to keep hope alive.

My journey — from storyteller to changemaker to mentor — has taught me that empowerment is not a destination. It is a practice, a daily choice to act with courage, to share hope, and to lift others as we rise. I am proud to take this step and to commit to helping women every month, to celebrate their victories, guide them through challenges, and remind them that they are never alone.
