Men believe anything that empowers women is “misandrist”

It’s just pathetic that men will go to great lengths to hate on anything that promotes women. I mean it’s absolutely laughable how they’ll make up pathetic excuses just to hate on women.

For this topic, I’ll be focusing on music that gets a lot of hate from these dudes.

My first song analysis will be on “No” by Meghan Trainor. Here are the reasons that the song is hated according to Wikipedia editors:

  1. ”The chorus is so stupid and laughably bad. She tries to describe "no means no" in a horrible way.
  2. The production tries to sound like something which could be released around the 2000s, but it sounds so minimalistic and far from great early 2000s songs we know and love.
  3. Meghan stereotypes all men as harassers. We get that many women are being harassed by men and it really needs to stop, but this is no way to execute the message.
  4. Meghan tells her girls to lick their lips and swing their hips to get the boy away from them. This is stupid because the men that this song is presumably targeted at will get more turned on and will hit on them even more.
  5. The song poorly executes the message about women empowerment. It instead makes Meghan look like a misandrist tyrant.“

Allow me to commentate on these reasonings.

For number 1, the chorus is indicating a conversation, so it has a deeper meaning than you’d like to think.

For number 2, that’s just your opinion, buddy.

For number 3, (oh dear god the Not All Men argument), the singer is not stereotyping ALL men as harassers, she’s saying there are TOO MANY men who behave in a certain way that needs to stop.

For number 4, this is absolutely bullshit and a petty excuse to throw victim blaming on women who are just fucking around. And for fuck’s sake, this is not women’s fault for men being unable to control themselves!

For number 5, bull. fucking. SHIT! If empowering women in any way makes me a “misandrist tyrant”, fucking good! In fact, that says a lot more about you and your triggered little manosphere friends than it does Meghan or any of the women who had to deal with harassment.

The next one I’ll be looking at is “Rich White Straight Men” by Ke$ha. Here were the reasons that the song is hated:

  1. “This is another half-written and poorly made supposed "feminist anthem" that really does nothing to empower women, instead just bringing down men, which is sexist.
  2. The song just stereotypes all rich, white, and straight men as evil people who are all sexist, which is obviously not true.
  3. The beat sounds very distorted and annoying.
  4. The vocals on the song are unlistenable.
  5. The single cover and audio video are just Kesha giving the middle finger which is just childish.“

Number 1, lol, you seriously think every women’s empowerment song that criticizes men in any way is “sexist”? Lol dude, did her words just hurt your little sensitive ballsack? Grow a fucking vulva, dude!

Number 2, (again with the Not All Men argument), no one is stereotyping all rich white straight men as evil and sexist. The singer is criticizing the behavior of corporate businessmen such as Donald Trump. If you’re so upset over privileged people being called out for shitty behavior, you’re the kind of person that supports bigotry.

Number 3, that’s just your opinion, buddy.

Number 4, no shit, it’s fucking Ke$ha! Who did you expect, Mariah Carey?!

Number 5, your argument as a whole is even more childish than someone pulling up the middle finger.

The next one I’ll focus on is “Shake It Off” by Taylor Swift. Here are the reasons that it’s hated:

  1. ”The beat is pretty dull.
  2. The chorus is very repetitive, especially the phrase "Shake It Off" being repeated over 40 times.
  3. The rapping part of the song just seemed very redundant and unnecessary.
  4. The lyrics just seem like a petty diss towards her haters.
  5. The music video is very boring and uninteresting.“

Number 1, who made you the judge of what a beat is supposed to sound like?

Number 2, you sound very hypocritical. You say the song sucks because it keeps saying the title’s song over and over again. Yet you also say “Bicycle Race” by Queen is good even though it keeps saying “bicycle, bicycle, bicycle, I want to ride my bicycle”.

Numbers 3 and 4, you know what’s also “redundant”, “unnecessary”, and “petty”? YOUR OPINION! Sounds like you’re just mad that you can’t get away with hating successful women.

Number 5, then don’t fucking watch it!

Well, I’ll give it a plus, at least it didn’t whine about misandry and stereotyping men.

I can’t say the same thing for another one of her songs, “You Need To Calm Down”. Anyways, on to the reasons:

  1. ”The lyrics are very poor and don't make any sense half the time.
  2. This song is basically Taylor telling her haters (and maybe homophobes) to "calm down". Many also saw this as minimizing homophobia, since the same tone was used for talking about mean tweets as well, or the fact that it was compared to "shade", which is supposed to be petty and catty.
  3. Horrible cover art consisting of just a picture of Taylor Swift stripping down to her bikini while approaching a pool with the focus being on her strange tattoo. “You need to calm down”, oh the irony“

Number 1, Surfin’ Bird had poor lyrics and didn’t make sense either, but you didn’t bitch about that song.

Number 2, because homophobia IS petty and catty! The singer’s telling you the exact context. And since you’re a hater yourself, you really do need to calm down.

Number 3, funny how you say Taylor’s being hypocritical for telling you to calm down since apparently she’s such a catty bitch to you, but what’s even more ironic is you’re whining and bitching over a butterfly tattoo on her back, thus proving her point.

The next song I’ll focus on is “Anaconda” by Nicki Minaj, which samples from “Baby Got Back” by Sir Mix-A-Lot. Here are the reasons according to a Wikipedia user:

  1. ”Oversexualized and gross lyrics.
  2. The music video is unwatchable. It just features Nicki, along with several other women, excessively twerking and doing sexual-related moves and poses. Not to mention the parts where Nicki scandalously eats a banana and whipped cream and gives a lap dance to Drake.
  3. Not only is the music video atrocious, but the song's cover art will also make you want to look away, as it shows Nicki showing off her butt. To make matters even worse, she is shown wearing a G-string!
  4. Nicki also insults thin women by calling them "skinny bitches", just like "All About That Bass".
  5. The music and lyrics are heavily sampled from "Baby Got Back", which in turn samples "Technicolor" by Channel One/Juan Atkins.
  6. Misleading title: "Anaconda" is used as a metaphor for a man who has a long penis since anacondas are the longest snakes in the world. She only talks about penises once in the song.
  7. This was one of the songs that damaged Nicki's reputation.
  8. The song also played in the 2016 animated jukebox musical film Sing, which is not meant for a movie that is rated PG by the Motion Picture Association. Fortunately, it was only a short sample, and it had no swear words except for "butt" in a kids' movie, but no further.“

Number 1, so this song is gross and over sexualized of a woman talks about asses, yet Baby Got Back is acceptable when a man does it? Double standard much?

Number 2, twerking is nothing new. It is a traditional dance performed by black women. Also twerking is not a sexual dance in any way. Why are you so upset over black women doing that dance, why are you upset at women doing lap dances? Are you mad at your dick and upset over the fact that you can’t fuck any of them? Also what the fuck is your problem with women eating bananas?!

Number 3, the more I listen to your argument, the more laughable it is. It just sounds like you want an excuse to slut-shame women. You hate women for sticking out their asses so much because you know you can’t fuck them. You’re so insecure, you just have to blame someone.

Number 4, you do realize that thin privilege is a thing, right? You’re okay with songs that fat shame women, yet criticizing thinness is a total no-no?

Number 5, okay, so it’s a sample within a sample. And how is it bad? EXPLAIN!

Number 6, dude, song titles don’t need to be referenced all the time. “Anaconda” is simply a title of the song sampled in “Baby Got Back”. Queen’s “Bohemian Rhapsody” had nothing to do with Bohemians and yet it’s still a critically acclaimed song. Lame fucking excuse.

Number 7, do you wanna know why? It’s because of YOU, John! You’re the reason why Nicki’s reputation is ruined. It’s assholes like you who get offended by empowerment and try to do everything to bring them down. You make successful women look bad to make yourselves look good!

Number 8, “butt” is not a swear word. This is also not the first time inappropriate songs and media are referred to in kids’ programming. Did you not recall the time the Simpsons (a PG-13 show) was on Sesame Street (Y rated) back in the 90’s?

So anyway, that’s all the songs I’ll be covering. But like I said, dudes will get upset over successful women who dare to exist and empower other women. They’re mad because the focus is not on them. Too bad for them, because they’re not getting anymore attention anytime soon.
