Recently I had asked a question about why women are expected to be scared when a cis man walks into the women’s bathroom yet men aren’t vice versa.
“Why are you asking this?” one man asks.
I explained the media portrays women as being hysterical during these kinds of incidents. I also explained that men think that women are “mysterious” and would that as an excuse to be a pervert.
His response was:
“If this was true, but we know its not.
Women's bathrooms have all stalls, what would they see?
Are they looking under stalls? Peeping through cracks in doors?
Women dont have cell phones? wouldnt take pictures of those men? Call police? How many women here has this happens to?
Just more manufactures fake outrage.”
I replied,
””fake outrage”? What are you talking about? If perversion wasn’t real (which it is), then why do 1 in 6 women get sexually assaulted?
Even if you believe every woman has a cell phone (which is not true), we wouldn’t be just get labeled as hysterical or overreacting.”
Some people just don’t get it, do they?
